We have two individual, full day Poldark tours. Barry, your guide, has inside information as he was involved as a driver for the main characters. So he knows the hidden locations used in the television show, covering the length and breadth of this beautiful county. Wheal Owles and the harbour at Charlestown are both locations we visit that feature in the popular series.

Even if you were not captivated by the BBC adaption of Winston Grahams popular series, there is still plenty for everyone. You will see the very best of Cornwall in Barry’s guided tours, using his local knowledge to draw out hidden gems. Travel from the bleak, heather covered highlands of Bodmin Moor, to the tiny, picturesque smugglers’ coves of the far West.

TV Series and Films Set in Cornwall

Over the years many TV series have been set in Cornwall, not just Poldark. Recently, The Salt Path has been captivating audiences in cinemas throughout the country, adapted from a well loved book. Rosamunde Pilcher’s novels have been adapted to form the basis for a German television series which is well loved in the country. These programmes bring many visitors from Europe to see the scenery that they have grown to love while watching the show.

The hit prequel to the successful TV series, Game of Thrones, has used locations throughout the county, House of the Dragon. And Doc Martin consistently shows off the North Cornwall sights (all with their own fictional names though, Portwenn is actually Port Isaac).

There is also, And then there were none, a mini series of Agatha Christie’s novel. Newquay and the Lizard Peninsula are both locations from this adaptation.
